Sleep in a Hobbit-Like Hole Or Elven Tree House in TN

At Ancient Lore Village every Dungeons and Dragons, Lord of the Rings or Disney fan is allowed to freak out. Especially if you are really a fairy in disguise. You can even visit for just a day, though sure to have an even more mythologically magical moment sleeping in any of their 14 dwellings. It’s a hotel, but not. It’s Glamping, but not. It’s something entirely of its own species, which is intentional as it’s based on a magical place called “Inner World” that doesn’t exist in our dimension. One mans creativity gave birth to a book, this book gave birth to the most unique stay you may ever find in the Southeast.

Home to weddings, parties, overnight stays, day visits, group retreats and honeymooners, the lucky 48 people who are able to stay overnight at one time, book their visit with pre-organized packages. For example, someone may choose to stay in the Leprechaun Lair with its jewel-adorned walls and hour of Axe + Archery play or upgrade their stay to include Prosecco, chocolates, and a souvenir board. Someone else may choose to stay in the Fairy Family Cottage for one night with hiking trails and yard games or upgrade their stay to include the Axe + Archery play. Pricing differs depending on the package you choose. Check here for dates, prices, and availability.

There are so many magical activities for all ages, though for my kiddos, I think the sweet spot is between the ages of 7 and 14. Here are a few things someone can choose to participate in while staying onsite:

-Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Brunch and Bar options

-Hiking Trails

-Yard Games

-Axe Throwing + Archery

-Audio Tours

If you are passing through and simply want to make a day trip to this colorful and happy place, you can choose from three different day packages that include everything from lunch to hiking, to archery and axe throwing. Check out the options here!

I would be remised if I didn’t mention a very important fact that sets this place apart from most others, and that is their attention to detail. Light fixtures have fairy doors, the food is fresh and made on site, the staff is friendly and kind, the bedding was warm and new, the rooms were clean and perfect. They do not skimp on the details. I ate the Chicken Parmesan, Strawberry + Feta Salad, Cheesecake, and their breakfast, but you could probably order anything and it would be just as amazing. I stayed in one of the elven treehouses and the view over the Smokey Mountains was breathtaking.

Definitely one of the most unique stays we have had, and one of the “happiest.” The colors, the people, the food, the fact that the whole place was designed to replicate a world that brings unity and joy to others… what’s not to find “happy” within. If you are looking for a little happy getaway, this may be it.

Word to the wise though, bring s’more supplies, we forgot ours and the fire is perfect for them.
