What do a special effects/makeup artist and an actor from the AMC show “The Walking Dead” have in common? They both agree -special moments are created while enjoying a great meal with family and friends. Norman Reedus (or Daryl Dixon, as we may know him) and Greg Nicotero (partial makeup/effects, partial producer, partial director) are known for two of the same things: their talents in Hollywood…and their food.
Which is why they are opening their fifth restaurant of Southern-inspired cuisine in downtown Greenville.
Called Nic & Normans.

Nic & Normans is hoping to open for GOOD on Tuesday, August 6th 2024. In the perfect location at 1 Augusta street, right outside Falls Park. Which means foot-traffic should be amazing, so I recommend making a reservation as this will likely be a HOT SPOT for quite some time.
With their personally inspired Hollywood interior, speakeasy dining experience, and awesome lunch deals, this place is going to be busy. And YES, their Meatloaf is as good as everyone rumors it to be.
In fact, EVERYTHING was amazing. Coca-Cola Braised Pork Shank, Fried Chicken Pot Pie, Shrimp and Grit Cakes which were elevated to the next degree of awesome, and their flatbreads which were as beautiful as they were delicious. I can’t fault the food at ALL! Check out their whole menu here.

Every burger is stamped with their signature Nic & Normans logo, which is a nice touch, and the space really is beautiful. They even planted nuggets of history in the mix. Which I love, of course. Leaving an ode to the restaurant that was there before by keeping Smoke on the Waters bar garnish trays, adding their old timber flooring into the side of their bar stands, and using repurposed Chattanooga wood in their bar top.
And for those wondering, YES, the two famous talents responsible will make an appearance… eventually. Keep your eye on my instagram (and Nic & Normans @nicandnormans_greenville) to find out when that time will be.
Happy Eating!
