River Street Sweets Chocolate + Candy

My sweet-tooth has a mind of its own. It has zero self-control and I am not even mad about it. I just love all things sugar. Especially when it’s hand-crafted, chocolate filled, and comes with a rich history.

River Street Sweets has multiple locations, but there is one dangerously close to my home that receives a visit about once a week. Sometimes I head down the road simply for a solo piece of salt-water taffy. Or on a really hot, South Carolina summer day, I cool off with a scoop of gelato.

But what really makes River Street Sweets so special, you may ask?

The Strickland family’s combined 100 years of candy making experience. They have perfected the art. Starting back when the “man in charge” convinced his parents at the ripe ol’ age of 11 to put a fudge pot in the family store. Greatest idea an 11 year old kid could ever have. I tried with my parents, they didn’t fall for it.

My personal FAVORITES in this southern charm candy boutique are:

-Homemade Pecan Pies

-Dipped Chocolate + Caramel Apples

-GIANT rice crispy treats

-Chocolate Oreos

-Salt-water taffy from their 100-year-old saltwater taffy machine

-Their specialty pralines that generate more than $30 million in annual sales. Because they are that good.

For a small family business, this little candy company sure has grown! Be on the lookout for these delectable sweet treats in Savannah, Charleston, Myrtle Beach, Atlanta, Nashville, Greenville, and certain cities in Maryland, Florida, and Pennsylvania.

Beyond the deliciousness that always follows a visit to River Street Sweets, it’s the company’s loyalty to making the world a happier place that also brings a smile to my face. Their guarantee is “if you don’t love it, refund or replacement. No questions asked.”

How can you not want to support a company with such heart!? Check them out on instagram, and then, let me know what you want to try first on my instagram! I’d love to pass along my two-cents, as you’ve probably figured out by now.
